Even today, in 2023, creating an email for a marketing campaign feels like a weeks-long endeavor. That’s because it almost always is a weeks-long process. A really painful one for everyone involved. It’s a story many of us know too well, and it’s precisely why we started Stensul. Today, I’m thrilled to share our latest chapter: Stensul has closed our Series C funding round, raising $34.5 million. This round was led by Sageview Capital and included existing investors like USVP, Javelin Venture Partners, Uncork Capital, and Lowercase Capital, along with some of our incredible angel investors. We’re also fortunate to have Edith Harbaugh, LaunchDarkly’s Executive Chair and Co-founder, participate in the round and join our incredible crew of angel investors.
But this isn’t just about how many dollars we’ve raised and from whom (see the formal press release for those details). It’s about revolutionizing how companies create marketing assets.
Most organizations are still stuck in the 1990s when it comes to this process. While we’ve seen advancements in things like targeting, data, and journeys, and the number of marketing channels continues to increase, the fundamental process of creating the necessary content assets like emails and landing pages for those channels remains cumbersome and time-consuming. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the relentless demand for fresh campaign assets needed to support all of these channels and audiences isn’t easing up.
There has to be a better way, and the best marketing leaders have already started the necessary transformation, enabling their teams to produce outsized results.
Using Stensul, Cisco saved 26,000 marketing hours per month, freeing skillful marketers from tedious back-and-forth, reallocating all that time to do testing, try new strategies, and ultimately seeing the resulting performance metrics significantly increase.
The Chicago Bulls shifted email creation to Stensul and saw their email-attributable ticketing revenue skyrocket 550%.
We’re not just aiming to refine email creation. While we started there, our vision is much broader: transforming the entire marketing creation landscape.

And, as it relates to everyone’s favorite topic, we’ve added a slew of Gen AI tools that help reduce the time to do all sorts of things, giving you time to iterate on your marketing idea and generate better performance. We’re going to continue investing and deepening all of these things and a lot more on the product front, bringing efficiency and increased performance to every marketing team. Every company will have a Marketing Creation Platform.
