Localize an email
Make a version of an approved email in another language by copying it into the right language and rewriting its copy, within the same guardrails.
Prompt
Make a German (de-DE) version of the Stensul email "<email name>".
Copy it, keep the structure, translate every editable text and button,
and keep the links. Show me a preview of the German version.
What the assistant does
- Finds the email with
stensul-list-emailsand reads it. - Creates a copy in the target language:
stensul-build-emailwithcopy_ofandlanguage, orstensul-copy-email. The original is never changed. - Writes the translated copy into the copy’s editable text and buttons.
- Returns a preview and the edit link.
Stensul’s help center notes that when you ask for another language, the header and footer swap to match, where the library has language versions.
What to know
- The target language must be one the library supports.
stensul-get-librarieslists them. - Copying into a different library needs the
duplicate_email_between_librariespermission. - Locked text stays locked. Legal copy that’s locked in the source is locked in the copy. If it needs a translation, that’s an admin change in Stensul.
- Check lengths. Translations run long. Character limits are enforced, and the assistant reports anything declined.
- Have a native speaker review it. The assistant writes a first pass.
